The men spot a lonely mare on the hill with traces of blood on the saddle and go in search of the wounded rider. Not thinking about the possible danger, Henry finds a stranger unconscious due to a bullet wound, and not far from the body, he discovers a bag with money and a pistol. The farmer brings the fugitive criminal into his home and provides first aid, despite the feeling of impending disaster. After spending a restless night at the bedside of an uninvited guest, he drives for the doctor, but runs into three mysterious horsemen on the way.
